Biography of our performing Arts Principal – WLPA – Ormskirk

Principal – Sarah Norris is a passionate and highly experienced Performing Arts professional whose career has taken her across the UK, Europe, America, and Africa. As a Producer, Director and Choreographer she has created exciting and original Musical Theatre productions for a wide range of audiences and platforms.

With a strong background as a full-time performer, Sarah brings real-world industry experience into the classroom. Inspiring students with her knowledge, energy and creativity. Her work spans television, film, music videos, and live theatre, where she has performed as a dancer, actor, and backing vocalist for major brands and productions.

Sarah has held leadership roles as Head of Dance and Performing Arts at several colleges across the North West. Here, she has helped shape the careers of countless students—many of whom now perform professionally in the West End, on television, in films, and on international stages.

Qualified Teaching

She holds over eight teaching qualifications in Acting and Dance and regularly delivers training for students pursuing their own teaching credentials. Many of her former students have gone on to establish their own successful schools and companies, continuing the legacy of excellence she instills.

Sarah also sits on audition panels for colleges, universities, and commercial companies, offering expert insight into what selectors look for and how aspiring performers can stand out. She regularly judges performances and prepares students for both stage and screen, sharing practical tips and professional guidance.

Sarah has directed, choreographed and trained many house hold names including Rebecca Ferguson MBE, Alison Hammond and our very talented WLPA alumna Charley Marlowe to name a few.
